Client Overview

Gailor Hunt Davis & Taylor, PLLC is a divorce and family law firm in Raleigh, North Carolina. Established in 1994, the firm is known as one of North Carolina’s most accomplished divorce practices, with attorneys recognized by Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and Legal Elite. Co-Managing Partner Jaime Davis also hosts the podcast A Year and a Day: Divorce Without Destruction and has written a book on divorce. The firm’s tagline says it plainly: “Divorce is tough. So are we.”

Challenges

The firm’s previous website had fallen behind the firm itself. It no longer reflected the depth of the team’s experience or made it easy for someone in a hard moment to find the right answer and reach out. The new site needed to handle a lot:

  • A wide range of practice areas, from separation, custody, and alimony to property division, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence, appeals, and marital tort claims like alienation of affection.
  • A large team of attorneys, paralegals, and staff, each needing a professional bio page.
  • Years of blog content that had to carry over without losing the search value it had built.
  • The firm’s thought leadership, including Jaime’s podcast, her book, and press mentions.
  • A calm, trustworthy tone. People visiting a divorce lawyer’s website are often stressed. The site had to feel reassuring, not overwhelming.

Strategy and Approach

We started with the visitor’s point of view. Someone facing a separation or custody question needs three things fast: confidence that this firm can help, a clear path to the information that fits their situation, and an easy way to make contact. We organized the whole site around those needs.

We built the design around the firm’s approved brand colors (deep navy and a calm slate blue) with elegant serif headings, warm family photography, and plenty of white space. The phone number and a “Schedule Consultation” button sit at the top of every page.

Execution

Here’s what we delivered:

  • A full rebuild in Divi. We built the site on WordPress with the Divi theme and a consistent design system: navy page banners, card layouts, clear section headings, and a matching call-to-action band on every practice page.
  • Practice areas people can actually navigate. More than 30 practice area pages are grouped into clear sections: Separation and Divorce, Children, Property Division, Alimony, Agreements, Appeals, and Other Claims. Each group has quick-link cards so visitors can jump straight to the topic that matches their situation.
  • A team directory and bio pages. A “Meet Our Team” page introduces the partners and staff, and each of the 12 team members has a bio page with a photo, credentials, and a contact card with a consultation button.
  • A home for the firm’s thought leadership. We built dedicated pages for Jaime’s podcast and her book, plus a Resources section with FAQs, a blog, and a secure Pay Your Bill page.
  • Blog migration. We moved 76 blog posts to the new site so the firm keeps the content and search history it has built over the years.
  • Connected lead capture. We set up the firm in Build Beautiful, our CRM platform, so consultation requests from the website land in one place, ready for follow-up.

SEO From Day One

After launch, we gave the site a full SEO foundation so it can compete for searches like “Raleigh divorce lawyer”:

  • Alt text on every image, 111 in all, including images inside Divi modules, logos, and award badges.
  • A unique SEO title, meta description, and focus keyword in Rank Math for every live page and post.
  • Local business schema that tells Google the firm is a legal service in Raleigh, with its address, phone, and logo.
  • Clean URLs and redirects, so old or duplicate addresses point to the right page.
  • One clear H1 per page, and old test pages removed from search results.
